Early this month, four DKICP teams participated in the local American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Clinical Skills Competition. The contest consists of a two-hour written assessment and oral presentation in which teams of two analyze a patient case.

This year’s winning team consisted of P4s Alan Trinh and Sandy (Qixin) Li. The runner-up team was Brian Petrone and Lillian Tran, both P3s. Other participants included Christopher Kaneko, Yan Yee Ho, Molly Moran and Olatunji Gbadebo.

Alan and Sandy will represent DKICP in the national competition at this year’s Virtual ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition in early December. If they are unable to participate, the runner-up team will represent DKICP.

Special thanks go to this year’s faculty judges Dr. Bryce Fukunaga, Dr. Michelle Kim, and Dr. Aryn Meguro; to Earl Emboltura, who coordinated the event; and to Reid Kubo for IT support of this year’s virtual contest format.
