P4s on rotation at Queens meet U.S. Surgeon General

Two DKICP P4 students who are completing a rotation at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu this semester where lucky to meet the U.S. Surgeon General, who was touring the facility Thursday, August 27.

Vice Admiral Jerome M. Adams, who is spending the week in the Hawaiʻi to support the state in its efforts to combat the COVID-19 coronavirus, made a visit to Queens Medical Center, accompanied by Lieutenant Governor Josh Green, who is also a medical doctor. During a tour of the intensive care unit there, they met DKICP student pharmacists Kimo Okamoto and Sean Domingo.

The hybrid rotation that Okamoto and Domingo are currently completing in the intensive care unit at Queens involves doing morning patient rounds at the medical center and afternoon topic discussions online. Their preceptor at Queens is Dr. Kara Izumi.
