The Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO) was named the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) Student Organization of the Year for its exemplary and impactful efforts on its members, college, and broader community. Through a dynamic lineup of guest speakers, IPhO brought industry professionals directly to DKICP students, opening doors to mentorship, career exploration, and real-world insight.
Their innovative shadowing initiative empowered newer students to step confidently into leadership pathways, while their first ever two-day research workshop connected students with faculty, simplifying the process of getting students involved in scholarly work. Throughout the year, IPhO was committed to inclusivity, ensuring that every student, member or not, felt welcomed, supported, and encouraged to engage. Their efforts have strengthened community, elevated professional development, and inspired students to explore new possibilities within pharmacy.
“I am very proud of the organization for uplifting one another toward their full potential,” said Dr. Nicole Young, faculty advisor to IPhO. “IPhO embodies excellence and lifelong learning -- values that are essential for a successful pharmacist. This recognition is well deserved, and I am excited to see what the next leaders in this organization will do moving forward.”
