Jarred Prudencio, associate professor and director of experiential education at the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP), was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). The induction ceremony was held in October at the national meeting for the organization in Minneapolis, MN.

Fellows in the ACCP are recognized for their excellence in the practice and research aspects of clinical pharmacy. Prudencio serves as an ambulatory care pharmacist in Hilo, specializing in treating patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. He graduated from DKICP in 2015, completed a residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center, and holds two board certifications. Prudencio has been recognized as an emerging leader by the ACCP, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), and the University of Hawaii system. He regularly serves as a speaker on topics related to diabetes and healthcare misinformation at state and national professional meetings for health care professionals. His leadership service in pharmacy organizations include the following: director on the Board of the Hawaii Pharmacists Association (HPhA), Hawaii state delegate for the American Pharmacist Association (APhA) and DKICP faculty delegate for AACP.

“This is a well-deserved honor for Dr. Prudencio, who excels as a clinician and educator. It serves as a testament to the quality of the faculty we have at DKICP, and particularly fitting to be recognized in October, which is American Pharmacists Month,” said Rae Matsumoto, dean of the college.
