Counselors get tour and practice compounding

October 5, 2023

High school counselors from around the state got a crash course in compounding as part of their recent tour of the DKICP campus.

Last week a dozen high school counselors from across the state visited the DKICP campus as part of a workship offered by the UH Hilo Admissions Office. The workshop provided counselors with an opportunity to learn about the different programs offered at UH Hilo so they can share that information with their students.

DKICP Student Ambassadors Gemmy Alegre and Daniel Yee provided the counselors with a campus tour and conducted a hands-on compounding activity explaining how to fill capsules using the punching method.

Daryl Masanda, director of student services, and admissions counselor Kristy Fujii were also on hand to visit with the participants and answer questions about the program and profession.
