DKICP well represented at AACP Annual Meeting

Several DKICP faculty presented posters and participated in the 2022 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Annual Meeting, held in late July in Grapevine, TX. Dean Miriam Mobley Smith and Camlyn Masuda, associate specialist, represented the college in the House of Delegates, serving as administrative and faculty delegates, respectively. Masuda and Associate Professor Jarred Prudencio, presented a poster titled “Impact of a capstone course on student confidence in performing entrustable professional activities”. Prudencio also presented a poster titled “Capstone clinical case examination to assess student readiness for ambulatory care Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences”, that was co-authored by DKICP Professor Deborah Taira and Associate Dean Lara Gomez.

Prudencio was selected by the AACP Ambulatory Care Practice & Research Network as one of two pharmacists to receive a sponsorship to participate in the AACP Leadership and Management Academy Certificate Program. With this award, he will be completing the academy in the 2022-2023 year.

Dianqing Sun, professor and chair, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, presented a poster titled “A survey of new uses of FDA approved drugs via drug repurposing”, which was co-authored by P4 student Rosalie White. Sun was also selected to serve on the 2022-2023 AACP COD/COF Faculty Workload Reimagined Joint Task Force.
