Alumni gather at virtual reunion

Over 35 DKICP alumni, along with current faculty and staff, got together virtually for a reunion on Saturday, November 6, 2021. A variety of activities allowed participants to catch up on what’s been happening at the college and with each other. The Pau Hana event started with a video providing a virtual tour of the college’s new home, Hale Kihoʻihoʻi, and a video of the newly created DKICP oli Maʻamaʻama. Dean Ma did a local kine grindz demonstration, making li hing gummies and showing how to easily portion out a ripe pineapple to dip in li hing powder. Participants could try it themselves with ingredients they received in complimentary gift pack. Alumni also shared their favorite memories from their time in Hilo.

A video was shown about installation of the first inscribed bricks into the Legacy Path that leads up to Hale Kihoʻihoʻi. Alumni were invited to consider purchasing a brick for themselves or in honor of their class.
