Two Class of 2014 alums honored with state awards
July 6, 2021
State pharmacy associations have recently recognized two DKICP alumni with prestigious awards. Dr. Katie Bass, Class of 2014, was selected to receive the Bowl of Hygeia award from the California Pharmacists Association at their state conference in May. Fellow 2014 graduate Dr. Jimmy Stevens was honored by the Arizona Pharmacy Association with its 2021 Pharmacist of the Year award.
Bass is owner and pharmacist in charge at San Joaquin Drug, Planada, Calif., which is a full-service pharmacy offering free delivery, COVID-19 testing and immunizations. The Bowl of Hygeia award is given annually to a pharmacist for exemplary community involvement and for providing patients with accessible healthcare through expanded services.
Stevens, along with wife Madison, recently became partners in Prescott Compounding Pharmacy in Prescott, Ariz. Prior to that, he worked as the pharmacist in charge at an independent pharmacy in Phoenix and as director of pharmacy at a behavioral hospital. Read more about these two DKICP alums in the Summer issue of Kāwili Lāʻau magazine, out later this month.
