Yan Yee Ho, a P4 student at DKICP, is one of 85 pharmacy students around the country who was chosen for the 2021 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Walmart Scholars program. She will receive a $600 scholarship to attend the Pharmacy Education 2021 event with her faculty mentor Camlyn Masuda. The event is held in conjunction with the AACP annual meeting, which will be conducted virtually again this year, July 19-22.

The program was established 16 years ago to help ensure there are adequate numbers of well-prepared professionals who are interested in joining the faculties of colleges and schools of pharmacy. The goal of the scholarship program is to strengthen the recipient’s skills and commitment to a career in academic pharmacy through their participation at this unique event.

“Yan Yee has a strong desire to pursue academia when she graduates and the Walmart Scholars program will help her achieve that goal,” says Masuda. “Throughout her pharmacy career thus far, she has impressed me with her qualities as a professional healthcare provider, leader, teacher and researcher. She also volunteered and led many community service activities. These are all attributes that make her an excellent candidate for a role in academia, teaching future pharmacists.”
