Nourish your Success words with basket of treats
The Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) has launched a “Nourish Your Success” program to provide snacks, foods and wellness activities during the semester to help support the student journey. “Many students don’t have the time or money to eat properly while they are in school, and the program allows us to remind our students that their health matters,” said Dr. Lara Gomez, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at DKICP.
In addition to food items, wellness activities sponsored for pharmacy students include mindfulness exercises such as breathing exercises and kinetic sand, games including ping pong and pickleball, and outlets for artistic expression opportunities through cardmaking, origami and mandala coloring. The DKICP partners with the University of Hawaii at Hilo Counseling Services Outreach to ensure that a range of activities and services are available for pharmacy students.
Molokai Drugs, Inc. was the inaugural sponsor of the program. A long-time partner of DKICP, Molokai Drugs, Inc. is committed to providing services and support that will be impactful for the college and community.
The DKICP has expanded programming to include faculty and staff in its wellness programs. “It is rewarding to interact with our students and provide an outlet for their worries as we come together to support each other,” said Christina Requelman, Student Support Specialist at DKICP.
