UH Hilo student pharmacists collect donations for Thanksgiving food drive

Student pharmacists from the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy collected more than 400 food items to donate to Hawaiʻi Island families in need before Thanksgiving this year.

The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) collected canned foods and non-perishable food items from faculty, staff and peers November 16-20. The goods were donated to Hilo Salvation Army.

UH Hilo adds Australia to list of countries with formal collaborative ties

Student pharmacists at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) are now able to formally expand their educational experiences to the Land Down Under following an agreement with an educational partner in Australia.

UH Hilo has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Blackmores Institute, an academic and research organization headquartered in the northern Sydney suburb of Warriewood, New South Wales. 

Walgreens helps UH Hilo College of Pharmacy with diversity initiative funding

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy has received a $7,000 check from retail pharmacy Walgreens to fund a diversity initiative at the University. An additional $5,000 will go toward scholarships to students in the Pharm.D. professional program.

This is the ninth year DKICP has received funding from Walgreens for diversity. The funds have sponsored educational programs such as a tour of health care facilities at Kalaupapa on Molokai.

UH Hilo student pharmacists named in national residency competition first round

Student pharmacists from the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo were “matched” with residency programs in round one of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Matching Program. More students from the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) have a chance to be placed when the second group of matches is announced after April 12.
