Eugene A. Konorev, M.D., Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Konorev attended Kurk Medical University from 1977-1988 from which he received his M.D. with honors and his Ph.D. from the Department of Pharmacology. He has held various research and teaching positions throughout his career, including Assistant Professor for the Department of Pharmacology at Kursk Medical University, Kursk, Russia; Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Cardiac Bioenergetics at the Cardiology Research Center, Moscow, Russia. While at the Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Biophysics, Dr. Konorev held appointments as Research Associate, Research Scientist, Research Assistant Professor, and Member of the Free Radical Research Center. Most recently, Eugene Konorev served as Adjunct Professor for the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Konorev is also a member of the Basic Cardiovascular Sciences Scientific Council for the American Heart Association. He also continues in his reviewing responsibilities for Free Radical Biology and Medicine. Dr. Konorev has authored (and co-authored) over 60 publications and is the recipient of the Award for Young Investigators, USSR Congress of Internists, Tashkent (1988) as well as the Travel Award for Young Investigators, XIV World Congress of International Society for Heart Research, Kobe, Japan (1992). Dr. Konorev's extensive expertise in biomedical sciences and pharmacology make him ideal for Assistant Professor for the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department of the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Pharmacy.
