Tamara P. Kondratyuk

Laboratory Manager and Assistant Specialist

Dr. Kondratyuk research work related to search of natural product chemopreventive drugs and their important role in the treatment and prevention of cancer. Screening results led to the discovery of many biologically active compounds including phenazines from unexplored sea-living species. The major cellular target for chemoprevention research is NFκB pathway. Dr.Kondratyuk showed that marine phenazines deregulate activity of NFkB pathway and activate protective mechanism against neoplastic transformation apoptosis. Variety of molecular mechanisms controlling apoptosis and cell cycle by NFkB inhibitors from natural products are under investigation.
